BEIRUT: A 52-year-old man accidentally shot by his son during a wedding ceremony in east Lebanon last week died in hospital Monday.
The state-run National News Agency said the single gunshot wound that killed Saeed Qassab was fired by his son during a wedding ceremony in the Bekaa town of Saadnayel.
The NNA said Qassab was wounded when he tried to prevent his son from firing his pistol in the air during the celebrations.
In nearby Chtaura, the NNA said an unknown gunman fired shots at a hunting supplies store Sunday night, completely shattering the front window. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
In an unrelated incident in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the NNA said members of the Sabeh and Harb families clashed Sunday with machine guns for 15 minutes.
It said the motive behind the fight was not determined. No casualties were reported.
