BEKAA: A Lebanese soldier was killed and two people were wounded overnight in a personal dispute in the northern Bekaa region, security sources told The Daily Star Wednesday.
They said the dispute between young men in the villages of Arsal and Ain quickly developed into a shootout.
The sources identified the soldier as a member of the Nasereddine family who hails from Ain.
The wounded were Ali Assaad Dabbous from Ain and Mohammad al-Fatili from Arsal.
In a statement released hours after the incident, residents of Ain condemned the crime, refusing to receive Nasereddine's body in a sign that they would seek revenge.
