BEIRUT: An army officer was wounded Thursday during an armed bank robbery northeast of Beirut, security sources told The Daily Star.

Zayyan al-Jurdi, identified as a captain in the army, was withdrawing money from the ATM outside Blom Bank in the Elissar area when he saw two men attempting to rob the bank.
