BEIRUT: One man was wounded when a dispute between him and another man over a woman's affections evolved into an armed clash Thursday night in Raouche, a seafront district of Beirut, security sources told The Daily Star.
Syrian national Mounir Mustafa Othman and Lebanese citizen Hussein Adel Daher, who were attempting to woo the same woman, took out guns and fired at each other.
Othman was wounded in the leg and taken to Rafik Hariri Hospital in Beirut, the sources said.
Meanwhile, Daher fled the scene and is now wanted by police.
Separately, a speeding car, the specifications of which remain unknown, collided on Beirut's airport road with a small motorcycle, injuring the latter's driver and passenger.
The driver of the car fled the scene, while the two men on the motorbike, identified as Ali Hussain Awad and Mahdi Hussein Samaha, were transferred to Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Hospital in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
