Police launch probe into Zouk Mosbeh factory fire
A+ A-
BEIRUT: Police have launched an investigation into the huge fire that broke out Monday at a factory in Zouk Mosbeh, north of Beirut.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which erupted at 6:45 a.m. at an aluminum factory in Zouk Mosbeh’s industrial city, security sources said.

Plumes of black smoke could be seen in the morning sky for miles around as a result of the fire, which Civil Defense teams eventually succeeded in extinguishing.

The cause of the fire at the factory owned by Paul Mokhshen was not immediately determined. Police are investigating whether arson was involved.

Earlier reports identified the owner of the factory as Cesar Seif. The conflicting reports arose from the fact that Seif’s and Mokhshen’s factories lie next to each other.
