BEIRUT: Top Shiite cleric Sayyed Ali Fadlallah called Monday for adopting a policy of dialogue in resolving disputes during a ceremony held by Mabarrat Charity Association, the National News Agency reported.
The ceremony, which was attended by heads of various religious and educational organizations and figures, included a performance by students from Mabarrat Association, a charitable chain of orphanages, academic, and vocational schools.
Fadlallah, who is son of late senior Shiite cleric Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, called for “adopting the policy of dialogue in resolving disputes ... with the aim of reaching a common language to help destroy the idols of intolerance.”
Fadlallah also stressed that dialogue should be built on high moral and rational bases or else it will not achieve its goals.
The Mabarrat performance, carried out by students from schools across the country, will continue for seven days and sheds light on the main stages in Prophet Muhammad’s life and deeds.
