BEIRUT: The Lebanese are the 6th most romantic people in the world, CNN said earlier this week, in a report timed to coincide approximately with Valentine's Day.

"They are different from the rest of the Arab world and they know it. Blessed with olive skin, soulful dark eyes and smoldering looks (not to mention a penchant by some for surgical enhancement), the Lebanese make full use of their physical attributes," the report said.

Apparently, one "seduction secret" of the Lebanese is "liberal application of hair gel and a designer shirt."

In what appears to be advice for women on the lookout for a Lebanese beau, the report advises: "Just wear something bright -- there’s a fair chance he’ll be wearing expensive shades."

When it comes to continents as a whole, Europeans appear to be the most romantic, with five European nationalities figuring in the chart's top 10.

The Spaniards were the most romantic, followed by the Argentines, Italians, French and Brazilians. Americans ranked 7th, followed by the Swedes, Irish and Vietnamese.
