BEIRUT: A Pizza delivery driver was assaulted and robbed late Sunday night in Hadath, Beirut.
A statement from Pizza Hut said the takeaway outlet in Hazmieh, Beirut, received a telephone call from an individual who placed a delivery order. When employee Alaa Safwan, 23, arrived at the given address, he was intercepted by a silver Nissan Tida.
Three men got out of the car and stabbed Safwan. They proceeded to rob him of LL250,000 in cash.
Security sources told The Daily Star Safwan was stabbed in the waist and back. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants fled toward the Beirut southern suburb of Mreijeh.
