BEIRUT: Lebanon police confiscated 929 unlicensed motorcycles Tuesday and fined 315 people driving with tinted car windows without official permission, police said in a statement.
In the span of seven hours and as part of the Internal Security Force's nationwide measure to crackdown on illegal motorcycles, police placed several checkpoints – some temporary – to catch violators.
The police confiscated vehicles that were not registered or whose drivers did not have a driver’s license or were not wearing helmets.
The fine for having tinted windows is LL150,000, which increases 10 percent every month if the fine is not paid in the initial 10-day period.
