BEIRUT: Bad weather has helped provide thieves with the cover needed to make off with electricity cable in southern Lebanon.
The National News Agency said Friday that the village of Addousieh in Zahrani was the latest victim of the theft, which took place at dawn.
Meanwhile, the Central News Agency said that although a number of people have been arrested over the last year for the increasingly popular type of theft, the recent spate of rainy and foggy weather apparently helped thieves in the village of Deir Ames make off with an amount of electricity cable, prompting the town’s mayor to lodge a complaint with the police in the village of Qana.
