BEIRUT: Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received a letter Tuesday from French President Francois Hollande in response to the letter he sent Hollande congratulating him on his electoral victory.
In his letter, Hollande assured Berri that France will continue to stand by Lebanon and help it overcome all challenges.
Hollande went on to say that this would be achieved through defending the two countries’ shared values, promoting bilateral cooperation and extending the Paris 3 conference, according to the letter.
Hollande added that preserving Lebanon’s stability, internal peace, and democracy is one of his priorities.
