BEIRUT: A Syrian worker under the influence of alcohol stabbed a fellow worker to death in Hamra in a dispute, security sources told The Daily Star Wednesday.
Syrian Khodr Saleh Sleiman, 32, stabbed Thaer Fadel, 33, at an abandoned building in the Beirut neighborhood, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Sleiman was under the influence of alcohol at the time, they said.
Fadel was transported to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The sources said Sleiman had been briefly detained four days earlier at Hobeish police station in Hamra for public intoxication.
