BEIRUT: Two Lebanese university students in France ranked 1st and 2nd in their Master's chemistry class, the National News Agency (NNA) reported Thursday.
Ahmad Naim and Mahmoud Ibrahim, who both hail from south Lebanon, were the first two students in a Master's chemistry program entitled “Catalysis, Organometallics, and green chemistry” at the University of Rennes 1, located in western France.
The graduation ceremony was held on July 2 in the presence of British chemist Harold Kroto, co-winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and several academics
Naim and Ibrahim have both received scholarships to continue their doctorate studies, the NNA added.
