Spain reiterates support for Lebanese government
A+ A-

BEIRUT: The Spanish ambassador to Lebanon reiterated Wednesday her country’s support for the Lebanese government, according to the National News Agency, amid calls from the opposition for a change at the top. “Spain supports the current Lebanese government because it represents all the Lebanese, whom we will respect in case they decide to change, but at the time being, we support this government,” Milagros Hernando said Wednesday, speaking during a ceremony to celebrate the donation by COFARES, the Spanish pharmaceutical cooperative, of products to health care centers in south Lebanon. “PresidentMichel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati are trying to cast off the effects of the crisis in Syria from Lebanon. The recent meeting at the United Nations discussed the means to protect Lebanon from any danger that could harm its interest; Lebanon and the Lebanese people are entitled to live in security, peace and stability,” she added.
