Car runs over, kills family of 5 on Naameh highway

BEIRUT: A man and his four daughters were killed after they were run over by a car Monday as they tried to cross the Naameh highway linking Beirut to Sidon, Elnashra news website reported. Some media outlets said the family of five was of Syrian nationality. Elsewhere, five bus passengers were injured in an accident in the coastal region of Bouwar, north of Beirut, the National News Agency reported. The bus collided with a broken Renault Megane car stationed in the middle of the road. Security Forces, Red Cross units, and Civil Defense personnel rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to the Saint Louis hospital in Jounieh.
