BEIRUT: The American Community School in Beirut has appointed Hamilton Clark as its new headmaster, effective July 1, 2013, ACS said in a statement Monday.
Clark, who is the current headmaster of the Episcopal Academy, a co-ed school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and who has nearly 40 years of experience in education, succeeds George Damon – ACS’ outgoing head of school.
A statement from ACS described Clark as “one of the most respected headmasters in U.S. independent education,” and said that during his leadership at the Episcopal Academy, he led efforts to raise $10 million for facilities and endowment.
According to the statement, Clark said that “ACS is [an] exceptional school that is steadfast in its pursuit of its mission. The school has been fortunate to benefit from George Damon’s leadership over the past 10 years, and I am honored and eager to build on his success while looking to the future of ACS.” – The Daily Star
