BEIRUT: A Future Movement representative met Tuesday with Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Inan Ozyildiz for talks on Lebanon’s crisis in light of recent developments.

“Adviser to former Prime Minister Saad Hariri Mohammad Chatah received the Turkish ambassador at his Beirut office to address the March 14 coalition’s vision of a breakthrough to the crisis Lebanon is witnessing,” a statement by Hariri’s press office said.

Tension heightened in the country after demonstrators calling on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to resign attempted to storm the Grand Serail in Downtown Beirut on Sunday following the funeral of slain Internal Security Forces intelligence chief Wissam al-Hassan.

Hasan, who was close to Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri, was killed in a car bomb at a residential neighborhood in Beirut’s Ashrafieh, an explosion that led to the death and injury of others as well.
