Suspect in murder of young Jbeil man confesses

BEIRUT: Security forces Sunday arrested the suspected murderer of a 20-year-old man who went missing from a town in Mount Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

Roland Nabil Shbeir, from Fidar, Jbeil, left his home Wednesday night after he borrowed his friend’s car and failed to return.

His body was found later in the car’s trunk near Pasteur Hospital in Jounieh.

According to the NNA, the criminal, identified as Charbel Sh., admitted to killing Shbeir during a robbery attempt.

Earlier Sunday, the NNA said that the Lebanese security forces apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in Shbeir’s killing.

The security forces’ initial investigation revealed that the victim was murdered after he fought back as the assailants attempted to rob him.
