Military helicopters scramble to douse north Lebanon forest fire
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Military helicopters along with Civil Defense teams rushed to put out a huge fire that broke out Sunday in a 200,000 square meter forest in the northern region of Akkar.

The head of the Dora municipality where the fire broke out, Khaled Sahmarani, said the fire was spreading and damaging the forest.

Speaking to the National News Agency, Sahmarani added that the residents were not able to reach the location when the fire first erupted given that it is enclosed by the forest.
