BEIRUT: A man wanted in the case of the shooting and wounding of several Lebanese soldiers was apprehended over the weekend, the military said in a statement.
The Lebanese Army said Saturday that Hasan Karaki, A.K.A. “Antar,” was apprehended on Jamous street in Beirut’s southern suburb.
On Friday, the Lebanese Army said in a statement that two of its officers and a number of soldiers were wounded while chasing a man in Ghobeiri, south Beirut.
Security sources identified the man as Karaki, who is wanted on several charges, including the attempted murder of Army soldiers and of being involved in a series of armed clashes with members of the Meqdad clan in the southern suburb of Beirut.
