Domestic worker flees after robbery in Beirut

BEIRUT: A Filipino domestic worker stole cash and jewelry Friday before fleeing her employer’s house in Beirut, a security source told The Daily Star.

The source identified the domestic worker as Lea Enad Butal, 33.

She had been working for Elias Kamel Rashed, 65, who lives in the neighborhood of Ain Rummaneh in Beirut.

Butal stole $2,000 and jewelry before fleeing to an unknown location, the source added.
