BEIRUT: Education Minister Hassan Diab warned Tuesday against the dangers of Internet surfing for children, given their risk of exposure to abuse, hacking and inappropriate content online.

Diab was speaking at the launch of the Center for Research and Development’s “Securing Children’s Safety while Surfing the Internet” project at the Education Ministry.

Youth’s inexperience may result in them “becoming easy prey for Internet stalkers, abusers and pirates which may eventually lead them to immoral practices,” the minister said, according to the National News Agency.
