Gemayel accuses FPM of sectarian incitement
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Beirut Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel Sunday lashed out at MP Michel Aoun’s Free Patriotic Movement, accusing it of adopting sectarian incitement to serve “intelligence regimes” in Syria and Iran.

“The FPM’s speech of sectarian incitement is calculated and taught by intelligence regimes that are running the movement,” Gemayel said in a TV interview, indirectly referring to Syria and Iran, which support Hezbollah and its March 8 allies.

“What the FPM is doing complements the odd actions carried out by Hezbollah in order to confront the other Lebanese parties,” he added.

Gemayel, part of the opposition March 14 coalition, accused the FPM of using “inciting speeches” in order to portray to the Christians that Sunnis are their enemies. “We reject this,” he said.
