EX-MP’s daughter in hospital after apparent suicide bid

BEIRUT: A daughter of a former Batroun MP was hospitalized Monday for a suspected suicide attempt, security sources told The Daily Star.

Jessy Akl, the 49-year-old daughter of former MP Sayed Akl, was admitted to a local hospital after she shot herself, the sources said.

She is in a critical condition, they added.

According to the sources, Jessy suffered from a severe depression.
