Border area on alert as Israel carries out drills

SIDON, Lebanon: Sirens were heard in villages along the Lebanese side of the Blue Line Thursday morning after Israel carried out school military drills across the country in preparation for potential attacks.

The drills began around 10 a.m. and were carried out in collaboration with the Israeli army, police and Education Ministry. The Israeli army remained on alert along the Blue Line while Israeli jets roamed over bordering areas.
