Man found in south burned to death in own car
BEIRUT: A man was found burned to death in his parked car in south Lebanon Sunday, security sources told The Daily Star.
Malik Abbas Muheiddine, from the village of Jbaa in Nabatieh, was found dead in his car with his body heavily damaged from the fire.
The sources added that a surveillance camera that was located near the scene of the incident showed that Muheiddine’s Nissan Sunny had been heading from Beirut toward the south and it parked at the Daoud al-Ali neighborhood of Wadi al-Zaineh in the Chouf.
The camera footage showed two men getting out of the car before it was set on fire with Muheiddine inside.
Police have launched an investigation to determine whether the victim was alive prior to the car being set on fire.
Civil Defense transported the victim’s body to Siblin public hospital.
