SIDON: Head of Yaroun Municipality Hasan Awadah was severely wounded Monday when his vehicle exploded in south Lebanon, security sources told The Daily Star.
Awadah was in the southern town of Tyre when the car exploded. He was transferred to a nearby hospital.
Police cordoned off the area around the vehicle while forensic investigators searched the parameter.
It was not clear whether the incident was an accident or premeditated.
