SIDON, Lebanon: Police failed to locate the whereabouts of Sheikh Ahmad Assir Tuesday after Military Prosecutor Judge Saqr Saqr issued a summons for him.

Saqr tasked security personnel with informing Assir of the summons but the sheikh later held a news conference at the Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque, where he accused Saqr of unfairly targeting Sunnis.

“Saqr Saqr is not a hawk when it comes to Iran and its allies. He is only a hawk when he deals with us because they deal with Sunnis as a defeated sect,” Assir said.

“Are you a hawk when you deal with us and a chicken when you deal with [Sayyed Hasan] Nasrallah?” Assir asked, playing on the meaning of Saqr (hawk) in English.
