BEIRUT: A dispute erupted Sunday between a number of residents in Aita Shaab and United Nations peacekeepers based in the south of the country, the National News Agency reported.
According to NNA, a number of residents prevented members of the Italian contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon from entering a neighborhood of the town after they suspected the U.N. troops had taken photographs of the area.
Residents confiscated a camera belonging to the soldiers, the NNA said.
It added that Lebanese Army Intelligence intervened to resolve the dispute and is working on returning the camera back to the U.N. force.
