Two killed in cell phone shop fire in Lebanon’s Metn

BEIRUT: Two Ethiopian domestic workers died of smoke inhalation in a fire at a cell phone shop in the Elissar neighborhood in the hills overlooking Beirut, security sources said Tuesday.

The sources told The Daily Star that the female workers were found dead at their apartment above the cell phone store near a branch of Wooden Bakery after a fire broke out around midnight.

They said the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.

The mobile phone store is owned by Elie Shorfan.
