TRIPOLI, Lebanon: A physician and his wife were the victims of assault and robbery Thursday in Tripoli. The attack on Fawzi Brish and his wife, who was unidentified, drew the ire of the North Lebanon Order of Physicians. The head of the order, Fawwaz al-Baba, denounced the incident and called on the police to do their utmost to protect members of the medical profession. The couple was set upon by an undetermined number of men, who robbed both their home and clinic, located nearby. “The police should protect medical personnel, because doctors sometimes are called to work at late-night hours.”
