BEIRUT: The Foreign Ministry said Friday that four foreign nationals arrested in New Delhi, India after harassing a female hotel employee included two Libyan Embassy employees, and not Lebanese as originally reported.
The statement was released in response to a story published by The Daily Star in its Jan. 11 issue that had quoted Indian media on the arrest of two Lebanese Embassy staff.
Reports in Indian media had reported that the four men were arrested in New Delhi after harassing a female hotel employee while sitting in a car believed to belong to a person working at the Lebanese Embassy.
The Indian media reports also claimed that two of the suspects arrested were Lebanese men who were later released due to their diplomatic status.
