Elias Aoun joins Arab Journalists Union board

BEIRUT: The Union of Arab Journalists elected Elias Aoun, the head of the Lebanese Journalists Union, to become a member of the union’s general-secretariat during a meeting in Cairo over the weekend, the National News Agency said Sunday.

This tier includes 15 members who represent press and media bodies across the Arab world.

The Arab Union held its 12th general session in Cairo Jan. 8-9, during which it elected the head of the Kuwaiti Journalists Union Yousef Bahbahani as chairman of the union and Egyptian journalist Hatem Zakaria as its secretary-general.
