BEIRUT: A landslide, triggered by water from heavy rains and melting snow, cracked a road in two in Hasbaya, southeast Lebanon, the National News Agency said Tuesday.

It said the crack stretched about 50 meters long.

NNA said the landslide also uprooted old olive trees and “changed the characteristics of the area.”

A severe winter storm hit Lebanon last week, destroying crops, infrastructure and cutting power to thousands of Lebanese.
