BEIRUT: The Roads for Life initiative announced Tuesday that actor Adel Karam will become an ambassador for the organization in Lebanon and abroad.
Karam will volunteer in all of the group’s media campaigns and advertisements in Lebanon, the statement said.
Zeina Kassem, the head of Roads for Life, made the announcement at a news conference at the Dunes branch of Holiday Inn alongside Karam and representatives of the Health and Interior ministries.
Kassem expressed her confidence that the new traffic law would soon be implemented despite some objections and called for making the “Advanced Trauma Life Support” program obligatory in all emergency rooms.
Roads for Life, otherwise known as the Talal Kassem Fund for Post Accident Care, was formed after 17-year-old Talal Kassem was killed in 2010 after being struck by a car while crossing the road on his way to school in Beirut.
In his acceptance speech Karam said, “If my image will contribute to saving one person in Lebanon then I’m ready to be photographed a thousand times for a noble case.”
