Police confiscate 4.5 kg of unidentified pills at airport

BEIRUT: Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut Wednesday, security sources told The Daily Star.

According to the sources, General Security police confiscated 4.5 kilograms of unidentified pills from a passenger traveling to Saudi Arabia.

“The pills were found in two pieces of the passenger’s luggage,” the sources said, adding that the 32-year-old passenger was in Lebanon for a visit and traveling to Riyadh.
