AIN Al-HILWEH, Lebanon: Relatives of two young men killed in Syria attempted to storm the offices of two pro-Syrian Palestinian factions in Ain al-Hilweh Wednesday.

Islamist factions and the Palestinian Follow-Up Committee intervened, preventing family members of Mahmoud Abdelqader and Mahmoud Sleiman from breaking into the offices of Al-Saiqa and the PFLP-GC.

Islamist forces and the committee feared clashes would inflame tensions already present in the camp after news spread about a demonstration slated for Friday at the offices of the two pro-Syrian groups.

Separately, a meeting with officials from all Palestinian factions in the camp led to an agreement to turn the office of the PFLP-GC into a shelter for incoming refugees from Thursday.
