SIDON, Lebanon: Police arrested a gang for robbing dozens of Syrian workers in Mount Lebanon and other southern districts, the National News Agency reported Tuesday.
The Internal Security Forces said in a statement that two Palestinians and four Lebanese men were arrested in Sidon while three others, all Palestinians, were still at large.
The statement added that the gang members broke into the homes of dozens of Syrian workers in several villages in Mount Lebanon and other southern districts using sticks, knives, rifles and guns to threaten victims and steal their wallets and mobile phones.
They later sold the mobile phones at the Sabra refugee camp, south of Beirut, sharing the profits among them.
