BEIRUT: A Nepalese domestic worker died from a stab wound to the stomach in a hospital in Kesrouan, north of Beirut Tuesday evening, security sources said.

Sina Bell, 38, died shortly after admission to St. George Hospital in Ajaltoun, Kesrouan, around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Her 73-year-old employer Mona al-Shamali, told police Bell was “in a state of anger” and stabbed her before turning the knife on herself.

Shamali is receiving medical attention for a stab wound to the arm, according to the sources, who spoke to The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.

Police said the fingerprints on the knife matched Bell’s, the sources added.
