Syrian shells hit Lebanon, leaving one wounded

BEIRUT: Shells from Syria landed on border villages and their surrounding areas in Akkar Tuesday, wounding one man.

Ahmad Hamad received minor injuries to his hand when bombs fell on the town of Arida overnight, the National News Agency reported.

The NNA said more than five shells exploded on the outskirts of the villages of Dbabieh and Noura in Akkar, causing material damage.

The villages were also subject to machine-gun fire from the Syrian side.
