Syrian man found dead on coast in Akkar
A+ A-

BEIRUT: The discovery of a body of a Syrian man in north Lebanon and three armed robberies topped Thursday’s police reports.

Police said Youssef Salman was found dead on the coast in Arida, Akkar, and that the cause of death remained undetermined. Separately, a Syrian national, Saleh Mohsen, was mugged by an armed taxi driver near the area of Chevrolet in Beirut.

The driver robbed Mohsen of his wallet, containing $700, and forced him out of the car before speeding off. In the Baabda town of Hadath, a Syrian man allegedly stole $8,600 from a mobile phone and money transfer shop after threatening an employee with a gun.

Similarly, a group of men broke into a mobile phone shop in the Metn town of Mazraat Yeshou and stole $7,000.
