BEIRUT: The Nusra Front has threatened to shell the border area of Hermel Monday, in retaliation for Hezbollah’s involvement in the Syrian war, and urged civilians in the area to take precautions.
The announcement was sent via text messages to a number of Hermel residents. On Sunday, two rockets landed in the area of Al-Qasr, near the border with Syria, and injured a Lebanese and a Syrian.
“As of Monday 13 May, we will continue shelling Hermel and surrounding villages with rockets and tanks to target Hezbollah locations as well as hospitals that are treating their injured fighters, schools and the government serail in Hermel in retaliation for the blood of Syrians in Qusair and its villages,” the group said.
