Hanna Khoury, 1959 - 2004

Hanna Khoury, a journalist who was in his forties and had been a Daily Star stringer in Bkirki for several years, died Monday after battling with a terminal illness.

He had been working as a stringer in the Maronite Patriarchate for more than 30 years during which he had the opportunity to be in close contact with several patriarchs.

Khoury was well informed about the ins and outs of Bkirki, and the fact he was Eastern Orthodox did not prevent

him from becoming a familiar face in the Maronite Patriarch’s seat.

He also worked as a stringer for the dailies An-Nahar, Al-Anwar, Ad-Diyar and As-Safir.

He was outlived by his wife Nouha and son Maroun. His brother Rafik is the editor-in-chief of the Al-Anwar daily.

Hanna’s funeral will be held Tuesday Jan. 6 at 3.30 pm at the Saydet Al-Maounat Orthodox Church in Zouk Mikail.

The Daily Star deeply regrets his loss.
