CAIRO: Egyptian authorities are detaining a German citizen and an Austrian man as they investigate allegations that they smuggled weapons into the country, a judicial source said on Monday.
The pair, along with an Egyptian who is also behind bars, are believed to have illegally imported weapons, including ammunition and telescopes, in a bid to undermine national security, the source said.
Cairo's general prosecutor ordered the three to be held in custody while the investigation is under way, the source added.
