CAIRO, Jan 22, 2012: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani said Sunday that the new plan adopted by Arab League foreign ministers to resolve the Syria crisis envisages the "peaceful departure of the Syrian regime."
"The new Arab initiative adopted by the foreign ministers envisages the peaceful departure of the Syrian regime," Sheikh Hamad told a news conference, adding that he hoped the Syrian government would accept the initiative.
It "resembles the one on Yemen," which resulted in President Ali Abdullah Saleh agreeing to step down, he added.
