DAMASCUS: Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday named seven new ministers in a government reshuffle.

Following is the new cabinet list:

Prime Minister: Wael al-Halaqi

Defence Minister: General Fahd al-Freij

Foreign Minister: Walid Muallem

Interior Minister: Mohammed al-Shaar

Local Administration Minister: Omar Ghalawanji

Domestic Trade and Consumer Protection Minister: Qadri Jamil

Communications and Technology Minister: Imad Abdel-Ghani Sabouni

Waqf (religious endowment) Minister: Mohammed Abdel-Sattar Sayyed

Presidential Affairs Minister: Mansour Azzam

Justice Minister: Najem Hamad al-Ahmad

Finance Minister: Ismail Ismail (new)

Health Minister: Saad Abdelsalam al-Nayef

Tourism Minister: Hala Mohammed al-Nasser

Electricity Minister: Imad Mohammed Dib Khamis

Hydraulic Resources Minister: Bassam Hana

Agriculture Minister: Ahmad al-Qadri (new)

Higher Education Minister: Mohammed Yahia Moalla

Education Minister: Hazwan al-Wazz

Economy and Foreign Trade Minister: Mohammed Mhabak

Industry Minister: Adnan Abdu as-Sahni

Transportation Minister: Mahmud Said

Housing and Urban Development Minister: Hussein Farzat (new)

Public Works Minister: Hussein Arnus (new)

Oil and Mineral Resources Minister: Sleiman Abbas (new)

Culture Minister: Lubana Mushaweh

Labour Minister: Hassan Hijazi (new)

Social Affairs Minister: Kinda Shmat (new)

Information Minister: Omran al-Zohbi

Minister of State for National Reconciliation: Ali Haidar
