Israeli jet shot down over Damascus: Hezbollah TV

BEIRUT: An Israeli warplane was shot down by Syrian air-defense units during a raid near Damascus early Sunday, Hezbollah's Manar television station reported, citing security sources in the Syrian capital.

However, at a conference Sunday afternoon, Syria’s Information Omran Zoabi said Damascus had no evidence an Israeli jet was shot down. 

Israel did not comment on the raid reports.
