ADEN, Yemen: A number of Al-Qaeda militants were killed when an airstrike hit their training camps in a remote mountainous region of southern Yemen Sunday, the Defense Ministry said.

It was the second air strike against militants in two days. On Saturday, another strike killed 10 Al-Qaeda militants, as well as three nearby civilians, in central Yemen.

The September 26 Defence Ministry website quoted an official source on the High Security Committee as saying that an airstrike hit the mountainous region between Al-Mahfad in Abyan province and Azzan in Shabwa.

The source did not give an exact number for the death toll.
