DAMASCUS: The Syrian foreign ministry on Wednesday accused the United Nations and UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi of obstructing the Geneva II peace process aimed at ending the country's three-year conflict.

"The UN and its envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, who has taken sides and is no longer an honest mediator, are responsible for obstructing the Geneva II talks," a ministry official said, quoted by state television.
