Sharon's memory will be held in nation's heart: Netanyahu

JERUSALEM: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday the Israeli people will "forever" cherish the memory of former premier Ariel Sharon, who died at a hospital near Tel Aviv.

"The State of Israel bows its head over the passing of former prime minister Ariel Sharon," Netanyahu said in a statement.

"His memory will forever be held in the heart of the nation," said Netanyahu, who also expressed "deep sorrow" at Sharon's death.
